I asked some questions about this sign a while back but did not have pictures at that time. Check it out, is this a WW2 period sign? The paint on it seems to have been silk-screened, not painted by hand. It is also double sided, the side shown was facing a wall so it was preserved but the other side has very little paint left. Check out the photo at this link:

Is 250 a deal?

Thats a killer cool sign, especially the bottom. You see piles or red-n-white all the time but not that. If it looks like the paint will stay on it you did good.
If it was a bike its like finding a Whizzer or a Phantom unrestored

You should be smiling, what else did they have??..dodogas

Well I went and bought the two signs, figured I better not snooze! I will probably list the pennzoil one on eBay, but the Mobilgas will go on the shop wall. If anybody happens to run across any info about this type of sign, let me know. I am totaly new to the whole petrolium scene, so I know very little.

Thanks!

DS

Huskybob, the JW Fry house is in Davenport, and it survives, my folks own it. I found the Mobilgas sign just up the road.

Good one dodogas!

Nice house Dave.... Next time your in Davenport take a look at Murray Elliots Chevy dealership.... the office is an old Flying A station... and he has some nice pumps and neon in there.... I think Brad Lago does his pumps for him.

Bob, I live in Davenport now, moved from Spokane... I haven't gone inside the dealership yet. Guess I will have to stop and check it out!

Thanks,

DS
