I have 3 signs with the same hole pattern as the Propello (Hancock Products,Red Crown Gasoline, and Pan-Gas) and they are all original. These signs were mounted in a Horseshoe shaped curb frame. I'm sure the Propello is original.

Here is a photo of both matching door signs. For those concerned with the lack of gromets, there was the remains of a gromet in one of the mounting holes.
