Got a lead on a Tokheim 505 visible. Glass is good, missing a couple of little handles. Pump is motor driven so no pump handle. Kind of a plain looking pump. No rods around outside of glass cylinder, has 3 pieces of 1/2 in. pipe around glass instead of the normal rods to hold the top on. Page 272 in Jack's book. Is this a very desirerable pump? If so, what would be a good buy for it?? Kent.

Kent any visible pump looks good restored. If the skins are not rusted out and the glass is good I'd start at $900 and go up from there. Remember the glass can crack when you take the presure off of it when you restore the pump. Richard

Kent some times the plain pumps turn out the best. With no cut out for the pump handle the side would be pefect for the V paint job with Gilmore. Replace the pipes inside with stainless steal, and you have a nice clean looking pump. Richard

Yep, it's going to need some customizing. Once upon a time there was a wagon called a Nomad!! Kent.

This is a extremely heavy pump, and it is the first one that I ever had. 900 lbs shipping weight with that big castiron top,and its very top heavy. The rods are next to the glass, and the four pipes that go up next to the glass hold the top and other pieces together. Take lots of pictures, because the inside if all there is full of parts and pieces especially inside under the heavy top bonnet. If you do go to restore it would love to get a casting off both handles in the shut off door and lever on the side. Good luck and I hope that you are young.

YIKES!!! 2 strikes against me already!! 53 year old gas geek and 900lbs of gas pump!!! Better take my boy with me to help pack me home too. The guy will let er go for 750.00. Probably should swoop on it I guess. I think them handles you are talking about are missing. I think I'll try to go and get it this next Sun. I'll let ya know if they are there Craig. No problem if ya want to make copies. I've got a couple other visibles, but nothing like this beast!!! Kent.
