Hey Guys. Love the website! I'm restoring my first Gas Pump...a Bennett 766. I want to restore it as a Sinclair Dino. Does anyone know the correct paint colors? Thank you!

From p. 186 of PCM's Guide to Gas Pump Restoration:

Sinclair Dino Gasoline (Regular grade, 1961-1970)
Pumps have white sides and top, with green doors. Usually used ad glass, and porcelain "Sinclair Gasoline" sign with logo was mounted midway between bottom of dial or ad glass and base. Globe: Sinclair Dino Gasoline on Capco.

Sinclair Dino Supreme (Premium grade, 1962-1970)
Pumps have white sides and top, with red-orange doors. Usually used ad glass, and porcelain "Sinclair Gasoline" sign with logo was mounted midway between bottom of dial or ad glass and base. Globe: Sinclair Supreme Gasoline on Capco.

I know nothing about pumps, but I hope this helps you! Welcome to Oldgas! :-)

Dick, that makes good sense (match the colours to your signs decals, globe)

Great info guys. I appreciate the help. I have seen them with green sides and white doors, but sounds like this may not be correct. I'll throw some pictures on here when I start putting it back together. I just took it to sandblasting today...FINALLY

Paint it the way you will enjoy it.
Some do pin stripping, clear coating, plating, display area below VR. Note my Avatar, I made the showcase for my twin.

Geoff. Like Dick said, do it the way you like it, because actually the pump should be done in Sinclair HC anyway. The Dino line did not even start till 1959 and your pump would be to old for that. I do mine with green sides and top and white doors. Look at my site if you like,(petrolight.com). I will be glad to give you my colors if you need and they come from NAPA.

If you are looking for a PPG code for Sinclair Dino green try 46271. I've used in on my Bennett pump and on my Sinclair lubester with great results.

Many pumps from the 40's and 50's were used well into the 60's and 70's so it wouldn't be a stretch for him to do his pump in Dino colors and still be historically correct.

Wanted: Gas pump globes:Sinclair & affiliates, IL companies. Ripple bodies. Anything Sinclair, Stoll, Pierce, 4 Bros.

Looks much better painting an Old pump with new color scheme, than painting a newer pump with an Old paint scheme [50-60's pump done in GILMORE ! GILMORE ceased to exist by 1945]!
