For some reason, I've been on a lubester kick latley. I saw this one today and stopped to talk to the owner. Its an OPACO.... I've never seen one like this. Is this something I should make an offer on? And if so, what price?

Offer to haul it away, so they can burn the brush pile !!
These were also made for TEXACO, with TEXACO letters where the OPACO letters are. db

You and your lubesters!
I keep telling you, come to my part of California. They are a dime a dozen here. Pallet loads sitting in open fields. Old farms still pumping oil for their tractors. Auto shops still using them to pump oil for their cars. Lubesters on every corner. Lubesters sitting on the curb with signs that say "FREE, Take Me". Lubesters at garage sales for ten bucks. Lubesters in the metal scrap pile at the dump. Rows and rows of lubesters as far as the eye can see.
California, the golden state and home of the cheap lubesters!

I like them a TON - Offer him 25.00 MAX. The antique shops here want $100.00+ for them rusted to heck and back. I can paint red and decal them and flip-em for $150.00 in any antique mall.

Great idea Dick! I have a lubster with mine and my neighbors mail boxes mounted on it. I cut a Big hole in the bottom of the lubster and put it over the top of a phone [utitity] pole that I buried 6 foot in the ground and left about 30" sticking out of the ground. After I had the lubster installed I used it to pour all of my left over sand in from my blaster until the lubster got full. I had troubles with people knocking over my mail box. Had is the key word here!! It has a couple of dents in it from being hit over the last 10 years but it has not moved at all. Great land mark for letting people know where our house is.
