Two weeks ago i did a car show and sold a gold crown pump to a client. while completing the deal, Chip Foose walked up and started talking about the pump. the client asked him to sign it and he drew an awesome hot rod burning out with his signature in the smoke. it was soooo cool. here is Chip signing the pump! He also had a TV show Called "Over Haulin" were they would steal a Guys old Car and lead him on a wild Goose Chase then after 7 days they would have it all redone and give it back to the very Surprised Person. Family Members were always in on the Prank.

Thanks Mike, it killed me to sell it! the restoration was not that bad, the only problem i had was the plastic bracket that surrounds the faceplate. it was destroyed and couldn't find a replacement, so i fabricated the borders with acrylic glass. i love the Erie 77. lot of guys don't, but when i get another, i'm doing that pump again and keeping it!

I have an Erie 77 and was wondering what was missing around the faceplates. I thought maybe there was some sort of rubber or rubber gasket. Guess I know now.

there are 2 types of faces for the 77's, one with a glass window and one without. the glass window one has the medal border that attaches to the door. the other (which i had) has a thick strange rubber gasket around the window hole and a molded border around the face plate. my border was destroyed so i had to fabricate it. medal would have been to difficult for me, so i used acrlyic glass and it came out awesome (i think). each piece took about 6 hours to fab, but it was worth it in the end. in the picture it is painted gold.
