Hello Everyone,
I will be restoring a Wayne 60 Narrow Body that was originally Wilshire Wilco Aviation (I posted pictured of it when I first bought it). Since no one makes a globe (or at least can make one for a price that I can swallow in this economy) I was thinking of doing it in Wilshire Economy. I would really like to see some examples of pumps done in Wilshire so I can get an idea of the colors to use and how they would look. Does anyone have any pictures of Wilshire pumps other than the Polly ones?

Try Dick Bennett. Not only does he live in California he seems to have a vast knowlege of the retail side of the industry there . I wish I could help . I moved to Los Angles briefly in 1973 and found the city way too far gone to my liking. I wound up in Dallas for years , my kind of town ! Ed Shaver
see ya on the road folks !

I would do the pump the light green thats on the decal and the base dark green. The Gas Pump Restoration Guide says it would be light green with a black base and top.

Here is a photo of a clockface that was posted here in '07. Maybe it will give you an inspiration? There are lots of Wayne 60 photos, but I can't find any with Wilshire other than Polly. Best of luck, Don

The color codes for the Economy pump above is light green PPG FDG Fleet 413280 and the dark green PPG DCC 40129 but with some additional red oxcide tint added to it. Cann't give you the exact amount because I painted it then add more red because I didn't like the color. Richard

That's a refreshing change from all the Polly pumps. Very nice work Richard.

Nice piece of literatue you found DB. Hope someone in the hobby who is willing to share is able to acquire it.
The reference to Highboy made in the notebook, is to what I call a oil dispenser, the rest of you call a lubster. Highboy was a brand of oil dispenser made by the Bennett Pump Co.
