I had purchased these neat old Standard Oil brass ID tags on ebay and was having trouble deciding how to display them!
First off--I purchased a buffer and compound and learned how to make then shiny and bright! I have other brass projects too, so the buffer was worth it!
Next--I searched for a decent looking picture frame that would be ready made in the right size and color but not too spendy!
After that-- I was at a loss for colors and designs to make it stand out , so I contacted T-ways graphics for assistance! We went back and forth with designs and sizes for about 2 weeks until we settled on the finished product shown here! Jim Treadway was great to work with and really had some great insights for the design. I was able to relay my thoughts and Jim was able to put it into a design that I thought would look good!
All told--it totals up to about a $50 investment for everything, including the brass tags and frame! It was a lot of fun and I found that you don't have to spend a ton of money to come up with a pretty darn nice display!
Thanks to Jim Treadway! Hope you all enjoy it!!--KEVIN

Looks nice Ken. I have a bunch of old sunoco blotters that I framed and it makes them easier to display as well. Did your ever find out who the Firestone sign belonged too.

smile smile smile Thanks guys! The brass tags were kinda neat in themselves but I thought they really needed something extra to really show them off. Thats where T-Way came in. He really helped with ideas and designs until we had something original and different.
I only posted it because I wanted to show everyone what can be done with a little imagination and a small amount of money! Thanks for the kind words.
Now for my next project?????? confused confused confused

Kevin, you and Jim; "Hit the ball clean out of the park". An excellent job by both of you. I have always enjoyed seeing, what I call, "tank ID tags", whether in brass, porcelain or plastic. Thanks for sharing!
