What you found is what we refer to as an oil dispenser. It was not made by Mobil, you need to look for an ID tag, it will tell you the manuf.
Oil dispensers such as yours are not usually sought after, but some will wind up in collections, mostly because thay came with something else the collector purchased. Oil dispensers with glass tops or wheels are more desirable, yours falls into the generic class. I once left about 50 of them laying in a field after having purchase the contents of an oil jobber.
I have seen them sold for as little as $25.00. My assumption is that you want to sell it, so if I were you I would put it on ebay for $9.99, the buyers out there will tell you waht it is worth.

Brad, did yours have the same wierd lid?

cmalki, they can also be worth more if they have oil company names (Shell, Texaco, Sinclair, etc) cast into the lid.
