ME THREE! YOU CAN DUMP A MEDIUM SIZED BOX OF THOSE THINGS DIRECTLY INTO A GARBAGE CAN AND SOMEHOW A DOZEN WILL FALL OUT ONTO THE FLOOR, A COUPLE DOZEN WILL STICK IN THE BOX AND WHEN YOU TRY TO GRAB THEM OUT THEY STICK TO YOUR ARM OR SHIRT FROM STATIC ELEC!

Ahhh...packing peanuts. When I owned Vic's, we went through 3-4 13 cu. ft bags daily, we had a high schooler that worked 2 hours daily who really didn't do much else put sweep up peanuts. To my credit though, I always would spring for the more expensive "non-static" variety!

Everyone needs to fallow Don Raleigh's packing method. He sends his Recyclables [plastic water bottle, milk jugs, cereal boxes etc] with the item sold.
If using peanuts that are made with cornstarch, add a few to box & spray a mist of water, add some more & mist. The mist will make them stick together.

Joe, Shame on sender for Not bagging the VR, before adding peanuts

I repair ECO mechanisms and I got so many peanuts I added this to my website tell how to pack the ECOs.

Please do not pack the unit in Styrofoam peanuts, they get
all over the place, they get stuck in the mechanisms and it
take me 20 minutes just to pick all of them out. Please put the
unit in a plastic bag, then pack it in anything you want.

Yep...20-30 minutes to un-pack peanuts....added to the $ of overhead.
Then it takes over an hour to package a computer for the return.
A roll of tape and some palletwrap.$$$.
I try to scrounge and recycle as much packing material as possible to keep the shipping overhead down.

Time, electricity, chemicals, torch gas, oils, primer, paint, thinner, sandblaster pay, water, emails, parts*, packaging is all included in the rebuild price cry......good thing I don't do it for a living!!!

I keep cardboard from all the water heaters I install for shipping signs. wink

* I only charge for major missing or broken parts......
Totalizers, wheels, ect. wink
