Snagged a couple goodies this last week! The guy had over 400 cans but all weren't for sale!
I bought what I could afford and I'm going back when I can gather some more cash!

grin grin grinForgot this nice Cities Service Cisco Solvent can! It was at the same place and still full!
Has a couple dents, so I got a bargain and shipped it off to Dick Bennett to work his magic! I'll post before and after pics when it gets back here! grin grin grin

I purchased a nice Exide sign this week...

I haven't had to do this in the past... I need some help from any of you who have had to remove paint from a sign... What will take off the paint but won't harm the porcelain??? If there is a past thread on how to do this I would appreciate it if someone would let me know where to find it... Thanks for the help in advance!

I've always used Easy Off then a good polish and finally a good coat of wax. Works like a charm.

i don't think the exide is porcelain but i could be wrong...if so you better not use easy off...or it will all be easily off all right..

...that 'bubbled-up' paint on the side not overpainted tells me the sign is NOT porcelain...proceed with caution!...when you find something that works, please post it here...I've got a transitional Jenney/Citgo credit card sign/bracket that I would love to remove the 'overpaint' from, w/o ruining the sign...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I have removed paint from qt cans by putting paint stripper on a rag [use rubber gloves] & working a small area at a time, GO S L O W.

Hey guys, Thanks for all the replies. I didn't realize the size was painted instead of porcelain... I figure it might be hard to get paint off without taking ALL the paint off... If it doesn't work I'll just mount the sign on the wall and cover up the bad side...

Thanks again for the suggestions.
