HERE'S A GAS PUMP THAT I BOUGHT ON MONDAY AFTERNOON SITTING 6" BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH...HAD IT ON MY TRAILER FOR ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE FLIPPING IT FOR A NICE PROFIT UP THE ROAD A BIT. AS A MATTER OF FACT IT NEVER SAW MY PLACE EXCEPT FOR A DRIVE-BY...LOL!

A GILBARCO 904 OR 906 I'M GUESSING?

AND THIS SIGN 12" X 25", A FLANGE THAT I FORGOT TO POST LAST WEEK WITH THE SHELL COLLECTION I SCORED...

THANKS! smile

Got this small Mobilgas shield (center) off eBay recently. These 9.5" pump plates are a lot more difficult to find than the 12" versions......however a seller in Florida had half a dozen listed. Looks like at least 4 were purchased by Oldgassers.

More of a trade than a buy, worked out well.

Thanks, Phil

I'm really not a beer sign person but I couldn't pass this one up! I was at the estate auction for the deceased father of an employee and it was at his old farmstead.
As with most auctions, I was just mosyin along with the crowd and they had just finished selling a trailer load of small items,
after which would be a small horse trailer and then some rabbit cages!
I listened while the trailer was being sold and then followed the crowd foreward to the cages and was listening to what I thought was a lot of money for some old rabbit cage,
so I stuck my head thru the crowd for a better look and this is what I saw!

I about fell over myself trying to get noticed to bid and finally bought it!
A Grain Belt beer sign that is the front for a beautiful Neon porcelain sign and it was being used as the top for a rabbit cage!
Tremendous color and shelving on this sign and very, very little damage!
Does anyone know anything about beer signs? This thing have any value?
I'm keeping it just because of the coloration and the story behind finding it but I wish I knew more about it!
Any info is appreciated!--Thanks---KEVIN

Picked the globe up at an Antique store on 66 that was going out of business. Picked the mobil signs up just off 66 as well.

...nice graphics on the Grain Belt sign, but it looks as though it's been cut down (trimmed) on the top and bottom edges...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

You're probably right as it doesn't seem perfectly straight there! Still great color and graphics for a 30 something sign!
And I bet the rabbits in the cage below appreciated it!!
