Pat-Man and I have been kicking around the idea of hosting a gas show in our neck of the woods.
Would you come?
to buy?
to sell?

date:Feb or March 2011
where: zip code 71403
http://maps.yahoo.com/maps.php?ard=1&rd=1#ard=1&rd=1
Houston,Tx 2- 3 hours
Dallas, Tx 4-5 hours
Alexandria, La. 1 hour
Lake Charles, La. 1+ hour
Shreveport,La. 2 hours
New Orleans, La. 6 hours
Jackson, Ms 5-6 hours
Ft Smith, Ar 8 hours
Tulsa, ok 8 hours

all vending would be indoor

your input is needed...
why no one else has done this in our region is beyond me...with all the past and present history with the oil buisness from Houston to New Orleans I wonder what would surface?

Paddy
Wanted. Billups, Ride with Rose, Har-V, LORECO, STANOCOLA, Pan Am (early), Hurricane, Evangeline, Canal, Gulf Coast, oil companies.

Won't commit to anything for sure, but we would definitely consider making a trip down to visit family and work the show into the schedule. We most likely would only be there to buy/look; not sell. smile

Paddy:

Jodi and I would be happy to drag the trailer down to your neck of the woods. That is providing there was a bunch of 'mud bugs' involved in the festivities! LOL

Crawfish season is Feb and March...just when we plan on having the show.
I will miss the homemade cookies that Jodi brings to Iowa each year...but the new boatdock and boathouse has to be built before they raise the lake level back to normal.

I get the question regularly from collectors, "Is there a swap meet in my state?" If there isn't one near them, I tell them it's often because it takes so much of work over a period of years to get an event off the ground and successful. Good luck, Paddy. Count on Oldgas.com for support and publicity. I think you're the kind of guy who can make it happen.

Question brought up about only indoor vending....It would be in a climate controlled indoor arena...plenty of room to pull your trailer in and just leave it loaded.
I was past president of our parish (Louisiana is the only state to have parish instead of county) for 5 years...this was for spring/summer baseball and softball and little dribblers basketball during the fall and winter....A gas and oil show can't be any worse than that...

need more feedback!!!!
