I know you can get reproduction labels but alot of times I will strip down a pump and put paint and varnish remover removing a top label only to find a neat earlier label that I want to save( had a torch standard, underneath was a real neat old Red crown) usually about 20-30 percent comes off or worst, what is best remover to use to take off the newer label and save the old without taking off the old. I like to keep original labels even if you can get close reproductions

For fun I have chipped away at them with a razer blade. I did that to four pumps and onr I sanded lightly. I only have digital photos of one I chipped and the one I sanded.
