Hey Guys & Gals,

It's time to share the petro relics that we've stumbled across in our recent travels, and check out what other people have found as well.

If you would like to contribute to this feature, simply post the pictures here or email them directly to me and I will post them for you. Be sure to include a story or description with your submissions.

If it's too close to the next installment, please note that I may hold your contribution for posting when the new FATW comes up.
Send 'em in!!

Happy Trails!

Wes

The first two stations are ones I saw on a business trip to Michigan. The guy I was riding with was nice enough to stop and let me take the pics, although I'm sure he thought I was crazy!

For these next pictures, I tried something new. I just got a new phone, with a decent camera in it. One of the reasons I got it was because I thought that maybe I'd see stations and not have my camera with me. So, I thought I'd test it out this weekend. Turns out to be not so bad...

Here's a WEIRD station that Norm Huff showed me. It's built to fit the strangely-shaped parcel of land, and it never gets any deeper than 1 bay-width as you move along its length. It may hav been a Texaco, based on the bricks.

Notice those cool corner protectors! They're cast iron, and they're marked, too!

This standard station has been rebranded (original sign) and is still operating.

Another station, brand unknown:

Feel free to post your finds! Did anyone pass anything cool on the way to/from Iowa Gas?

With prices the way they are, I'm surprised those Mobil signs haven't been pryed off there by a thief. And those neon signs would be tempting too.
