Finally got the camera out today and shot some photos of old stations in my area.

This old station has been everything from a Baskin-Robbins to a "dog grooming shop", once it shut down. It now is a Beauty shop.

This one is now the body shop for the local GM dealership. It was the original Ford dealership and service station. Not sure if it was a Ford/Shell station or Ford/(?).

Still has the "pad" for the original sign.

Under the canopy photos of the old Ford dealership, man they have fixed it up nice!

This one has special memories for me. The first station I worked at. It was one of the last if not last Flying A stations in SW WA. It had a "huge" round Flying A medallion on the buildings side facing the street. Years later after the station closed it's doors for ever, a local farmer put the medallion on his 2 story barn. Now the station is a "beater" of a home.

A few more stations:

This one was the second station I worked at. It was a Chevron station for a time.

This one was an old Mobilgas station from the 30's to the late 50's according to the owner:

Lastly this one was a "country store" when I was a child in the mid 50's, still had the visable out front rusting away until the early 60's when the store closed. You can still see the raised walkways in front of it.

It's amazing the things you will remember and uncover when you start covering your own local area for pics of stations.

This station is in East Bethel Minnesota about 30 miles north of Minneapolis. How long does a station have to be closed to have trees as high as the pump lights?
