WOW I'm not going to collect this stuff any more... from now on I'm selling selling selling. Who said the economy is hurting. Whats up with item number 110427277557? Sure wish I had more than the one in my collection. Whew, guess no one will be touching one of those for a while. Hmmmm wonder if I could repop them? Ok ..now seriously can someone educate me and explain if there is something special about this $35 - 50 item? John

Even though I havent been collecting Gas stuff very long I have been to Yard sales, Flea markets & Antique stores for the past 3 months and have never found anything that I was willing to pay the price that was being asked for it. Maybe I'm a Cheapskate?
I told my wife I can remember a year or so ago when we went to Antique stores that there were lots of Oil cans, signs, even some gas pumps. Now that I'm looking for it, its gone.
Guess its all on ebay?
I've about decided that if I want to find more things for my Shell station I'm going to have to get it on ebay or go to a Gas swap meet. I prefer a swap meet , dont trust some of the sellers on ebay.

Well.......I was looking on ebay for a set of flat wheels, and we were discussing rediculous......one thing lead to another.

It's ALL relative.

I don't trust the one's at swapmeets all that much, either. A lot of fantasy and reproductions are showing up at the 'meets. We have a "rather" large car show and cruzin' here each year, plus the "End of the World Cruzin" in approx a week. In one of the booths, was a mobil plate that was rather "beat up". I asked about it but passed as something about it didn't quite "add up" to me. A few minutes later it was sold, guess what "popped" up from under the table, right after the buyer went out the front gate?

Buying items through Oldgas, I have found that the people here have always been more than honest. Plus it is a great way to meet
new "friends" even if it is most of the time over the 'net and by phone.
