I need the bottom sheet metal for an early Veeder Root computer.
It should be 4 1/4" in Height and in good enough shape to restore.
I have NO idea what it looks like besides that measurement, cause I ain't never seen one.
Dig one up, tell me a price, and I will buy it.
If you have one and DON"T want to sell it, I could use a pic or two to try to copy it.
Thanks
Joe

I checked that too. Correct dimensions,
It won't have the door hole in it, and I imagine it would have a hasp like the older ones.

This style is too short.
Thanks for the try.

Anyone have an EARLY, 1932-34 Wayne 40 that may have this metal???? I beleive it may be the only pump to have used it.
it is the only thing keeping me from finishing this computer.

If nothing else just a pic?

Joe, there was an early Wayne 40 with the brass faces at Freds gas bash a couple years ago. It was Michael Slamas, maybe he can remember who bought it and they can check the computer for you.

From what I gathered, the metal I need will come from a Wayne 40 that has the original computer like the two shown above and has the hasp like the metal in the pic above but should be 4 1/4'".
Thanks

Joe--I finally got the time to take my 40 apart and get you some pictures! The metal part is all solid and mine actually measurers 4 3/8 inches. The part with the wire loop is set back 1 1/2 inches from the edge and the little channel piece on the other side is set back 3/4 inch from the end. Email if you need anything else while I've got it apart.--KEVIN

Is there anything left of the decal?
If you wet the metal it might show up.
I have some newer metal I can rob the parts off to make the band .
It is the two dimples for the lever restraint is what I need someone
w/ experience and the right tools to copy.
Any sheet metal guys out there that can do that????
Thanks
Kevin

Sorry--Nothing left of the decal. I'm a little worried about the sheet metal when I go to bead blast it!
Suprisingly--the variator internals look like new! When I get around to restoring this pump, you'll have to do the computer for me!
How about those little price wheels at the top of the face? Were they used to indicate price per gallon? Is there a trick to moving them, or are mine just stuck in place?

Ain't never worked on a 40...
Got a pic of the computer????
From what I have been able to determine there should be one variator style or another if it is original to the pump.
1 being 1932, 1 being 1933

Kevin, there should be a removabl pin that keeps the wheels price wheels from turning after the price is set. Mine were rusted in place even after I removed the pin. Joe used to make replacement wheels. They were a lot of work so I am not sure if he still does them. Here are mine before and with Joes replacements.
