This globe was on ebay over a month ago and i bought it with a buy it now. Since he GUARANTEED it to be original i thought what the heck... before i paid him i had him take it apart and send me picks of the back. It's as fake as Pam Andersons... well it's fake. Any one want to guess why? There are about 3 or 4 things but since it's together there are 2. Frontier globe on ebay click here
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

From the start the colors are off and not deep enough. All known versions of this globe are deep notched for glass, and it probably even has a date at the bottom, just a guess.....

Well Roger hit a few. This globe was never on capco... it should be deep notched for glass. Colors are hard to tell in a pic but yes the original is darker. Other is he told me the globe came from there and he is on the east coast and this globe would have never been used on the east coast.
If you could see the back you would know it's a fake compared to the back of an original. Keep in mind they did repop these without dates!
Let me see if i can find the post where we talked this globe in the past.

Click here for a post from 2006 where we talked about this same globe and the same guaranteed orginal. LOL Guy told me "it's real it came from a long time collector that took it out of the station". I hate liers! Someone have him post a pic of the back of the lens on ebay so you can see the differance.

Kevin has he replied to your e-mail about pics of the back? I see he hasn't posted any in his listing.

No reply yet John! Maybe I'd better send another note! I'll post it right away if he does respond! Here todays note to him:Did you get my message? If I'm going to spend that much money, I want to see the entire lens out of the frame and the backside too! You can email pics to kwfrith@gondtc.com

Still no answer--I'd bet he's probably reading these posts??? If he was honest and really wanted to sell the thing, he'd have sent a reply by now.

Even IF this globe originally came on capco, that body is a repro from a mile away! I hate that people have to try to ruin the hobby to make a few bucks!
