Hey Guys & Gals,
It's time to share the petro relics that we've stumbled across in our recent travels, and check out what other people have found as well.
If you would like to contribute to this feature, simply post the pictures here or email them directly to me and I will post them for you. Be sure to include a story or description with your submissions.
If it's too close to the next installment, please note that I may hold your contribution for posting when the new FATW comes up. Send 'em in!!
Happy Trails!

Both of these shots are in St. Joseph Missouri. I don't think the signs are real on the Standard. I didn't have much time to check them out but maybe Bob Hale can help on this.

This former Star station sits abandoned in Clinton, IL. I was talking to Norm (cmeon66) about it, and he said that one day, all of the Star stations just closed down with no warning. This former Standard station is pretty plain now, but at one time, there were vertical porcelain signs adorning each side of the front. Here's the garage that sits just to the left of the station.

Former Mobil station: Sorry for the terrible picture here. We were driving through a town, and I barely had time to snap this photo at speed. Looks like a nice setup - I like the air meter.

This is an abandoned Station Between Ellensburg and Yakima WA on Canyon Road. The only sign left was a "No Trespassing" sign. Made a neat photo opportunity though.

I think this is a Hi-Speed station....located in downtown Saginaw, Michigan.
You can see where the garage door was located on the far left-hand side of the building...now a walk-in door.
What do you think?

I believe I saw this station last month while on vacation--Hi-Speed is what came to my mind, too. Glad you got a picture. I was too slow off the mark.

Stay Gold, You are right!! It was a Hi-Speed station but with out the tower. For some reason there are more Hi-Speed stations that are still standing in MI that still have the tower on them verse's the Ohio stations that are still standing that don't have the towers anymore.!! I'm glad to see that building still there even if does not have the tower. I thinking I have a picture of the station with the tower from back in the day, but I cannot find it. Still looking for pictures of Hi-Speed and Hy-Flash gas stations in Ohio and MI Randy
