Good question. I have a barrel like the one your describing, and I have yet to find any info. They are very neat looking and will make a great conversation piece. I will probably do my own thing with mine,mabey blue with a white stripe in the center. Keep us posted, Frank.

Thanks Frankie, After a more thourough examintation I found some "patent" numbers stamped on two of the barrels with dates around 1909,1911,1916 etc.. It sure would be nice to have some idea how they were originally painted. Lets keep looking.
