WOW. I did't realize that I had already posted over 100 pics on partII. Goes fast when your having fun. Ok how about some more?
Some of you may have seen the next pictures before. I haven't posted them here but it is of the Henry Ford museum, so it's hard not to see and post cool pics of their stuff.

About 6 years ago I did some trading with a guy and we took a road trip to pick up a sign pole as part of the deal. We went to a salvage yard near Rockford mich. and they drug the pole up from the back of the yard and helped load it. I met the owner but I can't remember his name. My buddy called him easy Russ. Anyway after the pole was loaded he asked us over to his home to look at some stuff. He had the most incredible collection of original unrestored cars, gas pumps, and motorcycles I have ever seen!!!! It was so cold the day I was there that the batteries in my camera wouldn't work, so my buddy took some pics with his. He was more interested in the motorcycles than the pumps and petro so these pics do not do the collection justice. I have always wanted to go back but I don't know how to get a hold of Easy Russ. I know he collects Harley stuff and owns a salvage yard. I wonder if he is an Oldgas member? If so I like to say hello and someday take another look and better pictures of his collection.

HAPPY FRIDAY. The next batch of pictures were taken a few years apart at the same location. We were on vacation in Traverse City and visited Walts Antique Store. I can't remember what Walts last name is but he sets up at Michigan gas every year and always has super nice stuff. Both times we visited he took the time to personally show us around and tried to sell me some stuff. I never seemed to have enough money to buy anything but it was fun to talk to him and look around. He is definately one of the Good Guys in this hobby.

Well....this is a gas and oil site so I wouldn't normally do this but as long as you asked...This used to be my Tucker collection. I had to sell it all 2 years ago to buy material to re-roof a section of my house. I didn't want to borrow the money so the collection went bye-bye. I do miss the stuff but I learned a long time ago "IT IS ONLY STUFF" there will be more stuff later and life goes on.

Thanks! A shame that car didn't make it... are you keeping up with the convertable that was pieced together from what sounds like the one rolled years ago?.. trying to pass it off as a
hidden secret from the Tucker plant?...what a shame... would have been better if they would have restored it back than to hack it up.... anyway great stuff!!!!

For what it's worth, at one time in the 1960's , there was a guy here who owned a Tucker Torpedo . I used to go to the state fair of Virginia to see it . I personally can not see why Ford and General Motors never incorperated any of Preston Tuckers ideas . Hey, I would have bought one ! Ed Shaver

I would have owned more than one if the dust had settled and they could have built them. If I hit the MegaMillions jackpot I would buy that convertible in a heartbeat. I do not believe the story of a secret car for a minute. I've seen pictures that confirm the used parts to build the convertible came off of more than one car including the one that rolled over but I would still love to have it. Current pictures show it is almost done and looks incredible. It will always be a one of a kind. Some people like 57chevys I have always liked 48 Tuckers. Oh well I guess this is what the old gas site is about...dreaming about what was or what could have been.

Tucker:

We were at that auction. Matter-of-fact, Jodi bought the SONOCO M&S 80 shown in your photos.

And I got the coolest old 6-wheel auto jack you ever saw.

Later . . .

Jim

Be careful.... once you see the movie you'll start doing research. Next thing you know you'll be hooked. Kinda like buying your first gas pump.
