Can someone tell me how to determine if a Mobiloil Gargoyle Logo Badge is original or a reproduction - even if there repros? Thanks

This might get you to the image quicker. http://members.sparedollar.com/antqreso/20030243-Mirror-Pocket-Mobiloil-Gargoyle.jpg

As far as the item? I'm not familiar with this one. I'm guessing by your identification of the photo that it is a mirror. I have seen some "compact" mirrors that were give-aways by dealers, but normally they would have the dealers name on them too. As far as hat or cap badges, I know that they have been reproduced. Last year I believe someone had a connection with a prisoner who was making them behind bars. Sending them to the dealer, who was selling them, and representing them as being new. They looked great, looked like a real porcelain hat badge, but were of some other type material.

My guess...It's NOT old. Look closely at the image. It's a photo of a globe lense that they lifted. You can see the snap ring! I guess they don't know about PhotoShop...
