Welcome to Oldgas. In my opinion, depending on the quality of restoration, ie: perfect body work, paint, original glass,etc....from $3500 to higher end of over $5000. Add polished brass cutoff valve with correct cast handle and brass cylinder rods, also polished...price goes up. Paul

It is in need of some work, and for sale for about $1000 but my intent would be to restore it. Just curious if I would be making a good investment based on the sales price.
Thing is mostly cast iron and weighs a ton! This one has no cylinder, top or conduit and has a reproduction globe. There is also a pretty bad rust spot that will take some time to fix. Any insight on whether this is a decent deal?

W/O pictures it's hard to give an actuate est.
I would offer no more than $500 for what you say is there, as it will take time & effort to find correct original parts.

Cylinders for these usually trend for the $500+ range fot these so factor that in the price as well.

I agree with DB. You will sink another $500 in at least just for parts. If you do get it I have the top curved conduit for it. Pics also do help out a bunch. Plus we love pictures anyway!! Good luck & keep us posted

If no cylinder, $1000 is way too much. I paid $1300 last year for a 5 gallon with a perfect cylinder and the pump looked like it had been inside a barn for the past 40 years. It also had the correct cutoff valve, which can get pricey to find the right one. If you're talking rust damage, missing parts, no cylinder, etc DB is correct, $500 is the most I'd go, figuring you're going to be sinking another $750+ just in parts if you want an original cylinder. More if you want the correct cutoff valve (if it's not there).
