This is from last week but never got to get the pics on the puter. This of course is not a spendy globe and kinda plain but there were ALOT of Clark stations around here growing up and always wanted one,so when this this one came thru CL for reasonable I grabbed it.The guy I bought from worked for Clark oil from the 70s thru the 90s and got it out of a warehouse. He said there were lots of this stuff.Anyway I was happy to get it.
Joe

I forgot to mention that he had it mounted with a dimmer on this walnut base with a chrome tokheim globe holder.

Here are some of my recent buys. I haven't posted any BOTW for a while, so I'll only show the bigger items!
I posted a pic of my Socony banner in the "Paper or Plastic" COTM, so I won't post it here as well.
16-1/2" Mobilgas Special Globe

I bought this tin Socony Vacuum Touring Service sign from Richard Weir, Pegasus. Not mint, but about the best I can afford at this point. It's still visually a great sign. Any tin signs in decent shape are survivors to me. Sorry about the dark pic, the sign is a lot brighter in person but it was hard to photograph with the flash!
Have a great day all,
Darin

I know Alan, and the checkbook shows it, lol. Just seems to me a lot of neat items coming on the market lately. A sign of the times I guess, but a good time to buy if you can!

I added to my Sinclair Cardboard Sign collection this week...

First, this one is 48" x 72":

The second sign was used on the island poles:

I purchased this banner on Friday... I haven't received it yet so I don't have a good picture or know the size of it...

No im not crazy. My new kotex machine for the womens rest room, and it's loaded $.05 each. I never got my station moved up here this year because the old man never got around to cleaning it out. We've been very busy this fall so next spring we will be working on it.

Here are my latest buys, I have lots more to post, but it has to wait...
First is a NOS Essolube porcelain sign about 11X8 inches.
Second is a NOS Nynäs globe. It is plastic and was used during the 50s. The plastic is pressed and the white "N" is protruding through the blue fiber glass.
Third piture show a 40s Ljungmans pump with this type of globe. Colors are Nynäs post 1955. Picture is taken 10 years ago in the northern parts of Sweden.
Last picture show a couple of pump plates from the Swedish Koppartrans brand - pretty rare. They should arrive this afternoon :-)

I got this Gill body globe with Texaco lens here on Oldgas.com Shop Talk. I really got it to put some Zephyr Gill lenses in it.

Very curious if anyone can tell me is it is acceptable to clean up those retaining rings on the gill bodies and repaint them. I have one with the same worn off look and thought it would be nice to clean them up. Any thoughts???

I would- it would make the globe look better without hurting anything.

...FYI - the original paint used on those rings (at least on the older ones) was flat, not glossy...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Thanks Mark, that's good info to know. Mine has the old aluminum screw on base. I'm guessing that was also done in flat since it has the same look as the rings.
