For you history buffs this photo was taken in front of the Sun Valley Auto Court service station on Highway 101 in Buellton California around 1939. The little auto court cabins behind the station were later converted into apartments and were in use until at least the late 90's. In the 50's there was reportedly an hourly rental available and the locals jokingly called the place "the riding academy". Hmmm, wonder what they were riding?
