Got these photos from an enthusiast looking for more info about his pump. He'd like to know the correct pump color for Hercules back in the 1920s.
I thought you'd like to see it too.

Originally from the factory the 491 was an Air Operated pump, 492 is the Hand Operated. IF your ID tag has 491 stamped in, someone added the Hand pump to it. The casting laying on ground tells me it's a 492 [no notch for 3rd air op handle]. db

That is a good find for sure!! I kinda agree with Matt on this one. Redoing the globe face could reduce the value of it greatly. I would clean it up & display it

I just guessed at the 491 model number. I have no info on the tag. Thanks db, for explaining the difference that makes it a 492. Pretty cool, eh?

I would say that rates at the very least a "COOL". Couldn't fathom coming across something like that.

Air operated are few & far between. I am missing a couple of pieces on my 5gal 491. So was really hoping it was one & he was going to restore it. db

Could this brand be the same as the Hercules from Dryer, Clark and Dryer Oil out of Oklahoma City?
