Hi everyone. I recently finished painting this piece of shop equpitment. I'm really not sure how it works but it is an old armature analyzer. I didn't take a good before shot but I think the end result looks good. This might be a new avenue for me as it was easy to do because of the size. Now I'm on the hunt for old, small, easy to handle shop equiptment to re-do.

Nice job and a good idea for a new goal. Finding test equipment like meters, chargers, gauges, and analyzers are a lot more abundent then these sometime over priced pumps. Lets face it, look what they ask for on items like tire stands, porcelain signs, towel boxes etc. oil cans, its crazy! What you might start doing now is still relative to the gas station theme, and one day your collection could pay off. I enjoy doing my pumps and dispensers but presently Im restoring a 1940's Western electric phone booth (pay phone included)I feel it has a place also to gas stations and days of old. Roger

It checks for shorts or opens in a starter or generator armature, also known as a growler. I happen to have one just like yours plus a couple of others, they don't sell for much. If you need some brushes and bushings? I have quite a few bought out an old starter/generator shop that closed in the mid 60's.
Take care! tt
