Cut ## were sometime used to label what patterns or dies they were cut from, example "cut77" maybe an updated from "cut75", little things like a 3/4 hole instead of a 1/2 hole for electric, or 5 hold down screws instead of 4. Varies from company to company. tt

I have always joked that most guys treat me Gas Pump book like a Playboy. They skip the front, and go directly to the pictures.

On page 6, I explain "The model number. Some companies used Model, Model No., Cut, or Fig. Because this can be confusing only the number is used here in the book."

As for the word "Cut" it appears to have been used by the older pump companies, G&B, Wayne & Bowser. Tokheim's first pumps were called "Outfits."

I believe the word came from the original drawing called a cut.

Jack you are the man. I know I'm getting older when I flip through your book and get "really excited" at some centerfold-type pumps. Not that excited but pretty wound up.
