I see prices up and down for Fry's but what is it really worth unrestored and restored in a normal market?

I have paid as little as 200.00 each, and as much as 1900.00 each - un-restored. Today, I would only pay around 750.00 for them with no glass - 1200-1400 with 100% non-cracked glass.

Restored, whatever you can get. Around here in Kansas - 1900.00 - 2400.00 restored. No one seems to care about the style lately - they just want a gas pump.

Unrestored w/out glass, $750 seems about right. With glass, I'd say $1100-1300. Restored, I don't even venture a guess...it depends SOOOOOOO much on what kind of restoration you're talking about, parts used, etc. I personally feel that an extremely clean, complete original is worth more (sometimes quite a bit more) than the same pump with an amateur restoration. But a really good restoration, tastefully done, could easily put the same pump to $3500+.

I sold a 117 5 gallon with good glass unrestored last year for $1900, but that pump was cherry cherry cherry. Like been inside a barn for 50 years cherry. So $1200-1300 for a decent unrestored one sounds about right.

Ok thanks guys I will see what I can work out of course if I don't start getting a handle on this "Major Addiction" my wife is going to hang me. I thought collecting Lionel trains was bad. In retrospect they were safe because they don't take up much room.

I found one for $750. But it is 1200 miles away. Dont know if it would be worth having it shipped for $200-$250. There is rust on the lower section.

Collecting trains is the easy part, finding room & money for the layout causes problems.

I don't need a layout until I tell my wife the guest bedroom is no more.Of courde then I may be spending my nights in the converted train room. I have two large display cabinets full of 50's stuff and I realized that I have to stop even though they are beautiful but costly.
