I recently bought 170 oil cans and needed to build a shelf to display them. My Dad built me an awesome shelf for my computer room that will do the job. I didn't need anything great, just a shelf. My Dad did a great job building this and I can't wait to get the cans displayed. Now I have to drain and clean a bunch of cans and fill this thing up.
I'll post a picture when I've got all of them out.

I like it. Looks great. My oil can collection would only take up two shelfs, maybe.

Doc, The shelf is 4 X 8. It was constructed out of pine. The backing is a 3/16" 4 X 8 sheet of subloor material. It has one good side for staining and the back is a rough and unfinished.
Should have all the cans drained, cleaned, and displayed by this weekend or next.

Shelf looks nice & will look nicer when all the cans are displayed. It looks like your going to have to have dad make another for future oil cans.

Finally making some progress. Worked from 5 pm to around 1 am yesterday draining oil cans, rinsing them out, washing them, and getting them up on the shelf in alphabetical order. Drained out about 8 gallons of oil. I'm about half way done. I've got 83 cans displayed so far. Mac
