Morning, Do you measure outside of glass diameter because my American's base is 12 1/2"? Sounds like a stupid question but don't want to leave it open to "ASSumption".

Yes, all glass cylinder measurements are on the outside of the cylinder. The gas pumps they go into, usually have quite a bit of leeway for the cylinder to sit into as they were usually caulked all the way around.

12 1/2 would leave me with maybe 1/16 extra around. As long as it fits it should be ok thanks.
