I have looked through my gas pump literature collection for any reference to the 665, but I can find nothing.

The closest thing I find is a a 65 or 66, which was a Tokheim conversion kit for the G&B pump. It is shown on page 162 of my Gas Pump Identification book. This was a conversion kit for the G&B 105.

While I don't usually ask for pictures, one is needed here.

Maybe its a 65 or 66 curb type pump which wasn't a true clockface but had a round gallon indicator on it????
Jack is right--get some pictures up and if you can't get them posted, send them to me and I'll get them posted for you.

Knowing guts like I do, it surprised me that it has a cylinder.
How in the heck does THAT WORK????....I understand piston goes up, piston goes down,
but the motor & belt goes round and round crazy crazy

I was amazed at how much they could pack in that little space for a motor and pump to operate it. The tall has the same sight glass as the smaller one it was just in a box when I got it.

Motor turns a gear that raises the rack on piston. Gear kicks out @ top of stroke or goes into a back gear allowing piston to return to bottom for another lift.

In that 3rd pic above it looks like a bypass valve ( w/ brass cap) and a check valve or screen filter next to it,
that cylinder may pump in both directions.
I would like to see the mechanism the motor belt drives.
Interesting !!

After closer inspection of the pump & a half pic, the pump on the left shows the pumping unit in the background inside the pump and the right part shows the motor so what the heck is the huge cylinder for???/
Air eliminator?????

Joe--I believe what you're seeing is the gearbox that raises the piston rack and not a pumping unit. That large cylinder is the piston pump. IMO

Look closer at the pump and a half
they are facing the same direction
the left one is missing the motor
that is a pumping unit in the left one
The right one is a motor
The rack for the cylinder would have to come out in the center
and if it did it would hit the clock. I see no rack and no hole.

You have all the correct components to make an electric pump work....motor, pumping unit and it looks like a Trident clock reset knob so it would have a Neptune( Red Seal) meter in it.
Only thing that is missing from the lineup is an air eliminator.
Gilbarco used air eliminators in their later pumps that are scaled down versions of a cylinder like that....that rattley
cylinder that is next to the computer on a TRIMLINE pump.

Jeff's is showing the pumping unit on the right and the motor on the left. Between the two veiws of the pumping unit, the unit looks similar to a Wayne or Southwest pumping unit...some Wayne and Southwest pumping units are almost identical.
The brass cap is access to adjust the tension on the bypass valve spring.
The bypass valve opens & recirculates fuel when you have the nozzle closed so the pump does not lock up.

Joe, I see what you mean. I went out to the farm and checked my 65, which is very similair but is a crank unit. The cylinder is the pump on that one and it has a brass rod going down the center of the cylinder that is lifted by a gear rack on each side of the cylinder. This rack goes up into the tower to raise the pump cylinder and you can barely see it.
You're right in that there is no lift mechanism protruding above the cylinder and there wouldn't be enough room in the tower above it anyway. The cylinder looks exactly the same as a 65 and must have been converted for another use. Very interesting pump!---KEVIN

I have had several pumps like the one you are describing, that is what had me so puzzled on this one.
It didn't make sense to have a stroke pump and radial drive.
My 245 has the rack & pinion setup, and has a cutout for the rack to come out of the sheetmetal. And a huge packing nut,
and cylinder inside the cabinet and is a manual pump.

A 276 Wayne has a drive system similar to what DB was describing but it is manual....Handle in to pump (rack up), handle out to reset(rack down) ??...same direction of drive.
But to hook some kind of drive like that to a motor would be rediculous from my point of veiw.

I've never had this pump, so was only guessing how it COULD work.
Your right about the lifting rod hitting the clock mech. Joe.
