Anyone have tips on removing the hands on a Wayne 861? Does the slotted nut turn off and is it right or left handed thread? Don't want to bugger things up. Thanks, Garry.

If there is any exposed thread you should be able to tell by the "twist" of the thread if it is left or right. I don't have a definate answer though, I have never worked on that model.

Joe, thanks for your reply. Judging from the response, this must be an extremely rare pump.

Not an extremely rare pump, but restorations do seem to go in cycles. At different times I have noticed a lot will be restoring Wayne 60/866's, or Tok 36/36B's or Erie 70/71's or Tok 39 Tall/Short, [in no particular order]. Guess we all just need a push sometimes to get started on something !
I've got a 861 clock mech. sitting in my work area, but without use of left hand @ the moment I cannot help ya. db

There are a BUNCH of clocks out there I have never seen. I have never had an 866 clock to look at.....D'OH They only come to me as needed....It must have been a well made clock. Most of the time I only get the ones that need a miracle...arg!

I think mine were left handed.

Thanks Phil. I'm not having much luck so I'll try it that direction.
