I SAW THIS ODDBALL LOOKING DEKALB SEED SIGN IN A LOCAL CONSIGNMENT SHOP. I BELIEVE IS WAS REFERRED TO AS A WEATHERVANE. SOME OF YOU KNOW BETTER THAN ME. IT'S TAG READ $175.00

ANY INTERESTS LET ME KNOW, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO GO A GET IT OR PERHAPS TAKE MORE SHOTS.

That is what seed corn companies use to use to mark their seed plots. Quite colllectable but I already have two. The seed plots would give the seed varity number so farmers could watch the corn grow as they drove down the road to see how it performed.

Being from Minnesota I have seen these alot at auction ect. they go for around 75.00 here, In fact there is one at an antique shop for 70.00 right now.

I HAD A FEELING THAT PERHAPS THE PRICE WAS A BIT UP THERE. MAYBE BECAUSE THEY ARE SELDOM SEEN IN THIS AREA?

Doc, I gave 10 bucks for mine about 14 years ago.
These are common in the midwest.

As has been pointed out, here in the midwest they go from $50-$100 depending on condition. They are real weathervanes. The seed plot markers were larger and most were made out of Masonite or similar product.
