Anyone know the rough weight of gutted pumps. I know they vary but just a rough idea of some shorts like Tok 39's, M&S 80's and some talls like Wayne 70's ect. I am guessing at 150 but maybe they are 100 or 200?? I would weigh one but I have no means to.

That seems like a good estimate because I can carry a Tokheim 300 by myself when no pump/meter is installed.

Go to walmart and buy a cheap bathroom scale for 10 bucks, and use that for measuring the weight. Most they sell go up to at least 300 lbs.

I know that a gutted Gilbarco 1006 weighs about 200 lbs, and a gutted Bennett 700 series is about 250-275 lbs. Just finished a 'barco 1006 for a client, done as an entertainment center, and after it was packed and crated for shipment, it took 4 men to load it into a pickup truck bed. The buyer got his arm pinched by the crate and had to go for x-rays. Working offshore, I hear the safety speeches every day, but especially when working by yourself, with a piece of metal weighing what these pumps do, ALWAYS do things the safe way...it is just too easy to damage yourself while horsing around these pumps...

http://www.northpro.net/~rbauer/gasoline.htm I don't know how accurate this site is ? Something I found.... Somewhere a long time ago, I found a weight for a Wayne 70, and it was more than 400 LBS. I'm thinking I took out a hundred lbs, with the motor, pump, and a few other things. Jack, probably has all the manufactured weights.

BlackT, That's probably a shipping weight new in the crate. Even that would depend on the base [stamped steel, alum. or cast iron]. I'd bet the guts are closer to 125-150#

It sounds like a gutted pump still weighs 200 plus pounds or so. I thought about trying to weigh one on a bathroom scale but I am not sure I can get one on without damaging the scale (plastic) and if I did get it on I probably coundn't read the readout as the pump base is larger than the scale.

If you want I can weigh mine, I stand on the scale and hold the panels, then do the same with the frame, and finally the calculator. I am sure a Tokheim 300 does not exceed 150 pounds

Well I tried a bathroom scale and with some help I got them on the scale balancing them at an angle. Here are the results. M&S 80 short 205#, Tokheim 39 short with retractor weight 226#, Wayne 70 236# all without hose & nozzle. Thanks for all the replies. Looks like they are a little heavier than I thought.

It was 154 pounds including frame, panels, no glass, with calculator and faces. I had it on its side and it weighed more, so I weighed the pieces individually using a doctor's scale. I weighed the pump and it's 128 pounds. Have not weighed the meter or other parts yet. I am kind of surprised how heavy this thing is!
