Hey everyone.Name is Brian most people call me Swilly.Anyway I just aquired an old D-X service station that was Opened in the early 50's.At some point it was swithed over to a marathon station. I restore old cars and would like to return the building to its former glory..or as close as I can. It is a 1540 sq foot building with two bays and an original working lift.I just started moving in this week and have found a few goodies in the building from its past. Today I got up into the attic to see what I could find.I found a couple old oil cans and a water slide DX decal that was issued to the station in 1955.I also found some brochures for employee uniforms and health insurance. The old drive over dinger is still installed in the garage! Like I said the building has a few original things still in it that operate. Both garage doors are original, the lift is original and works,Even the air compressor is original and works fine! I will be taking pictures of the building along the way. If anybody has any pictures of Flat roof,Cement block DX or Diamond service stations for reference that would be great! Like I said I'm just a new guy that wants a building as cool as the cars I'm restoring!

Very cool Thank you! One thing I found in the attic today was A Huge Neon Light Trans former with screw on wire terminals and some old Cloth wire attached and enough Broken neon tubes to probably wrap the front of the building.Did DX stations Usually have a neon wrap close to the roof line?

Welcome to Oldgas Swilly, Your station has lots of potential. You could hang a lot of signs on those walls or maybe even paint a mural. John
