This is a before picture of my pump. The ID tag says: MOD 39 S/N 926756 - 5 - 48. I was told the 5 was the month and the 48 was the year.

I did my 39 short using metal signs and SS screws. The doors had about 30 different holes that I welded up so I figured the screwed on, metal signs would be appropriate for the pump. PS: I located the signs and drilled the holes before painting the pump.

Nice rides. Let's see 39 Chevy Sedan & 37 Chevy coupe??? The blue sedan is a 1938 Chevy, I have owned it since I was 12 years old. The Coupe is a 1939 Chevy that we built for a friend. Nice looking mustang you have there, We are building a 66 coupe right now.

Great looking pump mr.bill. I wanted to do the red/white paint but was out voted by my wife, who happens to think she pays all the bills or something.

Are you going to your pump with Mobilgas or Mobilgas Special pump plates. To be correct for history if you care? Mobilgas pumps were solid red and Mobilgas Special were red sideds and top white doors.

Thanks. I knew about the difference between Mobilgas & Mobilgas Special color scheme. I am curious what the diference was between the products? Were they both available at the same time or was Mobilgas Special merely a premium grade? I hope not because I am puting "Premium" ad glass on the doors of my solid red Mobilgas pump.

You are right, itsagas, that is a 39 Ford PU. I have a Mustang buddy who has one for sale right now. It's all original, unrestored, except it has a 48 Merc flathead in it. I should have recognized that truck
