I would like to know if this Porcelin Shell Sign is a pump plate sign. It came on a Wayne 40A that I bought from a farmer about 6 years ago. It is single sided. Would also like to know what it's approx. year would be. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bill

Right on--4 grommets and "made in usa" at the bottom tells me it is an original.Good score!!

This sign is of the same era.13 "flutes"-15 "flutes" indicates the 20's era.

I agree w/ 30-40's. Haven't found anything to indicate they were used in the 20's.

Dont think i indicated pump plates were from the 20's--I have had and do have a Shell SIGN from the 20's with 15 "flutes".

Hawkike,
What do you mean when you refer to the word "flutes"?
Thanks, Bill

Bill--count the "humps" or "bumps" on the outside edge of the Pecten. That is the best way that i know to describe it.
This one has 15 "flutes" or "bumps" and is from the 20's
