You can use the 282 over the ppg dp90, just make sure everything has cured properly and is etched.

Slick sand is ok, but is much harder to cut than a regular primer/surfacer. I dont recommend EVER putting color down with out a sealer first.

One other question. When spraying a thick, heavy primer-

Which nozzle size is better - a 2.0, 2.2, or 2.5mm? Or does it matter?

e.g. Does it matter to spray Omni 282 with a 2.0 or 2.2mm?

Thannks,
al

I think you could get away with any of the above sized tips for a high build primer. We use a 2.0 when spraying the omni 282 and it seems to work fine.

Ryan,

Thanks for your help.

I ordered the DP90LP since I have heard so many good things.

I also ordered the MP 282, catalyst, and the MP 180 sealer.

I also got a spray gun with a 2.2 mm nozzle for the primer.

When I get to the topcoat may have to ask again.

Thanks for everyone else's help.

You will like the 282, just dont spray it too thick or you can get shrinkage. Put on one heavy coat, wait until it flashes, then another. Be sure the primer has time to cure before sanding it. 24 hours minimum with out applying heat. If you have the technology to heat it with an infrared you can block it the same day.
