First post here so, any info would be great on this. I've done some searching and think the sign is porcelain and from around 1957? The pump says it's a Bennett 766 on the plate. It's serialized and everything inside looks to be in it's place.

That and the fact this thing weighs a ton is all I know so far.

If I don't gift it to a deserving company man in my family it'll be sold after I figure out what I've got.

If you are looking for information on your pump you can go to my website: www.petrocollect.com

Or you can go directly the Bennett 766 page at:
http://www.petrolianacollectibles.com/bennett%20756.htm

If you really like gas pumps you should purchase my Gas Pump Identification book, which lists over 1900 gas pumps with their currect unrestored values.

Matgyver, welcome to Oldgas!
I am sure you got what it says on the id plate. This logotype was issued around 1957, but not used on the pump plates until 1962.
This pump plate was used between 1962-1966 and the pump was originally all red if used as Mobil regular :-)

Thank you all for the great information. After close inspection I am pretty sure it was originally red but it's been painted over with white. From the amount of emails I've gotten about the Mobil sign I guess it's a hot commodity. It's an interesting work of art for sure. I haven't seen anything built in the past 20 years that comes close to the quality.

Welcome to Old Gas. Bennett 766. It looks to be in good shape so a restore should be fairly easy. As for the pump plate not real rare but lots of people like pump plates since they are easy to display smile

Those pump plates can usually be purchased at any gas swap meet, and there is a good chance you can find some NOSs ones.

Thank you all again for the information. There's a lot to learn about Gas stuff.

My uncle said it's not what he's looking for (he's wanting something with the glass cylinder top, and the wife says I have enough hobbies so this one can't stay here. I may keep the sign in the garage at least since it's pretty neat....she doesn't have to know about it.
