I received another great book today and thought I would share the info with the members here. The book is entitled:
"Phillips 66 1945-1954 Photo Archive". This book is all photos, has an introduction and then photos, fantastic photos. Photos, not only the "typical" long distance shot of a certain station, but close-ups of displays and pumps. Also large close-ups of inside the office, shots that show rolls of handi-oilers and tins. Close-ups of the give-aways, including irons, toasters etc... Close-ups of the service bays in use and more. All the photos are from the archives of the Phillips Petroleum Company. For you 5Qt collectors a shot of cans outside the front door of a station and the cans reached the roof. Ed, if you read this; this book will give you detailed photos of service bay displays, tool displays, battery displays... etc. If you like photos and I believe we all do then this book is for you.

Oh, before I forget: the book also tells the story of how and when Phillips Oil came up with the name Phillips 66 for their new gasoline and their stations.

Here is a little larger "look" at the book, plus another by the same author and publisher. Both, IMO, are great for those who like photos of vintage stations.
