gents, pulled apart a 511 Blendomatic yesterday. there are some mysteries that i need help with??? the ID has the model as an F-6, serial 26133, and No: 116871. first, the paint of the pump is Gold. i thought the paint would be blue/yellow for sunoco. any thoughts on this? i even scrathed thru the paint, and it seems gold is the base color. would this have been sold to another company from the get-go, or did all of these go to Sunoco? the original glass has the "octo-matic" glass still in the frames. second, the pump has a globe cutout...did any sunoco blendomatic's use a globe? and if so...what kind? next, has anyone seen these porcelin plates that cover the original 9 octane face spots(shown below)? and would they be from Sunoco? for the meter...i'll rely on Joe Yocum (as always) and tom buckles can get me all other parts missing...the only other items i need help with are if anyone has a near perfect side stainless panel, and if anyone has good condition "sale rollers" that show in the bottom face, mine are all eaten away. last, i need 2 of the Wayne little oveal tags shown below. o.k, alot of info and questions, so thanks to all who can shed some light on this mystery "gold" blendomatic. chuck

Chuck , the face to me says Spur Oil company ! Yesser, Spur , ( Murphy oil) sold blened fuels in the middle sixties in some of their marketing territories usually in Arkansas, and mabye Moursouri in the middle 60's . I have some old photos around to back it up . Still, Spur generally painted their pumps white so thats throwing me off. I can say for certain that Wayne made the 511 Blen O matics for several other companies aside from Sun Oil . Ed Shaver

Wayne did not make the blend pump for Sunoco, Sunoco just bought most of them, so Sunoco is accociated with the Wayne blend pump.

Blend pumps were also made by G&B & Tokheim. See pages 171, & 298 of my Gas Pump Identification book.

That one was definitely for another company besides Sunoco. It's a very interesting pump - it has the early -style design for the stainless upper door frames and spinners, which would seem to suggest it is from the late 50s to very early 60s. Could we see a picture of the glass you speak of?

I really like the unusual buttons, selector plate, and lower face panels. If I had it, I would restore to original, not convert to a common Sunoco.

BTW

My Wayne dating runs out at the end of 1960, but I would guess that your pump was made in 1961 or 1962.

thanks to all, below is the face with the original glass. So, i definately want to try to restore it to what it was. So, what is the consensus??? i'd do it in Spur if you have a picture Ed. then, what would the globe look like. by the way, i wired it up and all three lights lit right up! gotta love that. chuck
