Hello all, I have a Two sided mobiloil sign that hung up at my grandfathers for as long as I can remember that he had from his station here in Az. I am trying to find out though if it is an actual lollipop sign or different because it has two hole near top like ten and two a'clock pos. no bracket or mounting sections for pole? I am thinking it probably hung from the top for station signage. it is round approximately 24'' across and in pretty good shape. Was there a standard for what size signs were used for what? Any help would be appreciated.Grandpa passed a couple of years ago and it now hangs in my garage .
Thanks Rob

Weloome to oldgas, I also have a 24" with the gargoyle above MOBILOIL with the holes as you describe. I always thought it was a possible curbsign that was never used for that.... Pegasus where are you

Where I come from, these signs were always two single sided, screwed together and hung straight out from the wall by two short pieces of chain from an iron bar.
Can't find a picture right now...

It would of been a hanging sign & would of hung from a pole or building.

I don't recall having seen that sign before, but double-sided with holes at the top leads me to think it was hung from a bracket attached to the wall. Sorta like this one......

However, 24" round DSP sure sounds like a lollipop or driveway sign......could have been used in an "A" frame of some sort.
