This photo was taken in 1948. Thats my dad holding me at the Polly station he owned in Petaluma California. This was a rural farm district area and our dog was killed on that road. My mother insisted on getting out of there, fearing for my safety. She complained of the little shanty we lived in behind the station. It had wooden sheeting with gaps and holes for flooring (mice, spiders, snakes below) and poor plumbing. Sold the station where we moved to Reno and bought a Shell station in 1949 downtown by the Casino's. My dad said he faired well with not only gas sales but visitors who lost at the tables and slots and n By saipuol, shot with KODAK LS443 ZOOM DIGITAL CAMERA at 2010-01-29 eeded money to get back home. He said at times for a tank of shell he would get gold watches, tools, spare tires, guns and more. Can anybody ID the those monster pumps in the picture? Roger
