Frank sent this image of his 100 R gas pump:

Love this pump, Frank. It's something different in shape and style in a very good way.

Yes it looks horrible!!! But in person, from some angles, it has some potential. This one has the faint outline of a Richfield decal.Oh well. I give up Frank..

I found two of these a few years ago...different farms each three miles from my home. One had a globe holder and the other had a special diamond casting to plug the hole in the top of the pump.I kept the one with the globe holder. If you ever find extra curved glass I could use it. I broke one unloading my pump as it is such a odd shape you could not get a good ahold on the pump and it slipped!!Crash!!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...this is either the ugliest pump ever made or the coolest. I'd love to talk to the designer and see what drugs he was useing way back then!! I can't believe Wayne went along with this "thing".
Anyway...I had to let you know there is a few around and my thoughts on the Wayne masterpiece.
Jim

Can I have permission to use the pictures in my revision of the gas pump book?

Frank, are you SURE that contraption's a gas pump? It looks more like some sort of soft ice-cream machine. (Just joshing. But it sure is different!)

If you are looking for glass for this pump give pogogas a shout, he has the ability to do curved glass work. He has done a couple of one off's for me. He does great work but you will have to pay for it!! You can get hold of him on his new Website. www.pogogas.com

Thanks for all the input guys!! The picture posted is a bad picture, the pump is curved, flat, rounded, etc... You need to see it in person to understand. The opposit side of the pump is like the side of "hipless" wayne 60. Anyway, yes Jack you can use my picture, or I can send you a way better one, plus you said you wanted the Kewanne picture, be my guest! I would like to help any way I can. Keep pumping!!! Frank.

WOW - It sure pays to watch this discussion page closely. The 100 R pictured is JUST LIKE the one I reported on my 09/20 post!!!

Have been busy and when I got around to taking a close look at it I noticed the curved glass and just haven't had a chance to e-mail Jack about the difference from the 100 A in his book. Mine looks like it orignally was painted white, then red and finally green by the lady who had it by her garage. Yes, like Mr. Wadams I too broke the glass unloading it from my Ford Escort wagon. OUCH The ad glass says Super Milage, but I have no idea what brand this pump was originally used for. I looked for an identification tag from Wayne but couldn't find one. I am still trying to figure out how the upper "skin" comes off, let alone how the glass holder is detatched. As far as appearence goes it looks like it was inspired by the Art Deco movement which lasted until the '50s. It has the curves, but wasn't painted pink!

While I agree that it doesn't have the classic look of a visible or a Wayne 70, I really wouldn't call it ugly! Just different - read extremely different.

Since I have a Bennett 756 I want to restore for my den and a Smith L3 for outside my garage I would be interested in selling the Wayne 100 R. Being 38 miles from Superior, WI that puts me 1500 miles from Idaho! Sorry Frankie. Readers of this forum might remember that I asked for advice on shipping pumps, and I did send 3 to California. It is a hassle, as you bolt the pump to a pallett and then cocoon it with used refigerator or such shipping cardboard. Bolts and duct tape are only $5.00 but the shipping runs $100 plus depending upon distance. And that is terminal to terminal. Handling is hard without a forklift. I had to tilt my trailer and then use a come-along to winch in on.

SO, if anyone is interested in buying my pump please contact me. (715) 378 - 2577 or by mail, at 11405 S. Hanson Rd., Solon Springs, WI. 54873. Price is negotiable. I will take pictures today and get them processed on Tuesday. Can't scan and send but will mail. Will send Jack some too!

Take care, John
