Ok I have these parts which look like they function as floats. They flip to Car and storage. I haven't seen any pictures of these in other Frys. How do they work and are there floats that attach to the front hooks? Also my access doors have only 1 bolt on top of each panel instead of two like my others. I would guess that makes this an early one? The bottom of the panels have a welded bracket that holds it into place. Also the bolts that hold the body to the base are square not hex. Looks like one of the early runs maybe???

The boxes attach to some linkage inside the pump. I did not take a pic of the one we had apart or I would post it for you. Nice pump.
Thanks, Phil _________________________________________________ Looking for any old pumps, or nice 5 gallon cans.

Southfla, the two metal boxes are attached with a bracket to the top of the brass overflow tube. When the gas is pumped above the pipe, the little cork floats inside the boxes will "float up" and say "to storage". (overflow going back down the pipe into the storage tank.) When gas is anywhere below the overflow pipe, it's ready to be dispensed to car at any set gallon graduation. (floats will say "to car"). Confusing? That's ok! Sam

Top view of how the metal boxes attach together, which in turn the whole unit attaches to top of brass regulator pipe.

Sam and Phil thanks for the pics and explanation. Cool devices for 1925. Must be an early one I thought.
