Wow! Thanks for the comments about hitting 2000 Shop Talk members. What a great time to do it on Independence Day weekend. God bless the USA and Oldgas.com!

It is true we have a good backbone of regular participants, but the majority of the members post messages only when they need info and read messages without posting replies. That is not to be taken lightly though. Oldgas.com consistantly logs over 400,000 pages viewed per month with over 100,000 of the user sessions lasting over a half hour. Over 3000 Internet Explorer users bookmark this site each month. Those numbers are not just the result of 50 frequent users. That traffic is from thousands of unregistered and registered users from across the world.

I'm proud of the conduct of the members 99.9% of the time. I'm proud of the helping participation attitude of so many people answering questions whenever they can. I'm happier about those things than I am about any number, no matter how high it gets.

Membership is at 2001 isn't that great. Wecome all new members, ask questions, most will answer, if not email the person you wish to contact by clicking on the envelope in there post. Theres also T-shirts, Hats, Books you can purchase and a percentage of the sale goes back to Oldgas to help run it.
also bid on ebay from this site and a small percentage goes to oldgas also. anyway have fun, enjoy the Hobby. and above all Help the Hobby. Welcome Aboard from Vintag-logos.

I checked the logs to see who the official 2000th member is. "Teflon 74" from Windsor, Ontario, Canada has the honor of the highest distinction Number 2000 Shop Talk Registered Member. The fact that he is not from the USA should remind all of us that this is no small group of guys from the west coast or someplace else USA. This Oldgas.com community includes people from across the world.

Congratulations Teflon 74, use your power wisely. Help others here as you would like to be helped and others will help you.

The current number of members is listed on the upper right of the main Shop Talk page with the list of all the various forum categories. The 2000 number does not include the first four years of Shop Talk when users were not required to register.

I also belong to Team Chevelle as i am restoring an old Chevelle as well and the help they have provided has been pricless, i hope my experiance here is as enjoyable! Windsor is right across the river from Detroit and i hope to start to attend some shows nearby. Thanks again and i will hold the #2000 proudly. Ralph
