Tom these would of went into a 15in medal body. Was the globe body original or repo that you tried to use?

I've heard of a lot of people having problems with lenses fitting on repro bodies (bodies being too small). I believe repro lenses are even smaller to compensate. If you get an original body, you'd probably have better luck. I have also heard that high profile and low profile bodies are a little different size as well. I guess you could say that a 15" lens is not always a 15" lens...

BTW, according to the globe book, this should be on a red High Profile body.
Good luck, Wes

THAT'S OKAY, I'VE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH EVEN PLASTIC 2PC CAPCO BODIES LATELY. SEEMS THE LENSES DON'T GO INTO THE GROOVE AT ALL AND THEN THE TOP SCREW DOESN'T CLOSE UP THE 2 HALVES SNUGLY!

Doc,
What lenses are you putting in there? Maybe they're the thicker ones for a glass body? Those never fit in a Capco very easily (or very safely).

I've been having the same problem with repop 15" lenses on an original low profile body. The lenses are still very rare, I think there is only 1 or two known sets of originals and 15 sets of repops so the snap rings are really terrifying me. I think I'm going to go with clear silicone and calling it a day.

WES, MY INVADER LENSES (MADE BY T-WAY) HAVE BEEN GIVING ME TROUBLE IN THE CAPCO LENSES. THE GROOVE LIP INSIDE THE PLASTIC CAPCO BODY APPEARS TO BE TOO UP AND DOWN AND NOT ON AN ANGLE OR THE GROOVE JUST NOT WIDE ENOUGH TO LET THE LENS SLIP IN NICELY. THEY ARE CAPCO'S.

I see what you mean. Perhaps the lenses have more curvature than original Capco lenses?

Get rid of notch tabs in Crapco body. What do you have to loose ?

Just for clarification.
There is a larger amount of lens seat area 'wiggle room' in the reproduction STEEL High-profile bodies than there is in the STEEL Low-profile reproduction bodies. And an enormous amount of variation in lens seat area with the SPUN ALUMINUM High-profile bodies
If my customer orders a pair of 15.0" lenses and a Low-Profile body - I hand fit the lenses to the body before I ship everything out. Just to make sure everything fits.
There are always variations in the overall size of the glass 'blanks' since they are hand cut. Therefore you will have some that are 1/16" larger or smaller than the dimension you actually tried to cut. That's just the variation you get when you hand cut a glass circle.
And . . . our 13.5" lenses are designed to fit the CAPCO bodies that are produced from the ORIGINAL CAPCO molds. I make no guarentees on fitment for any of the other 'knock-off' CAPCO bodies that are being sold on the market today.
DOC actually had one of the knock-off bodies split on him at the top from the pressure the lenses exserted on the plastic. I've had a set of the same Invader lenses in one of my bodies since I finished the first pair - and had no problems even with temperature swings from 15-degrees to 85-degrees in my Production Room.
BTW -If anyone has a new steel Low-profile body that they are having trouble getting a set of lenses to fit into - feel free to bring it (and your lenses) to any of the Gas Shows we attend. I'll be happy to let you try your lenses in any of our Low-profile bodies to see if they will fit. If so, I'll exchange your body for the one that fits your lenses - no matter where you pruchased the body or the lenses originally!
Later . . .
Jim
