The last display belonged to Alvin Mielke and Alvin passed away a few years back. Those few pictures are just a tip of what he has. I meet him maybe 6 years ago at Peotone... well in the lobby at the motel. LOL

Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

You are absolutely correct Jarvis - it is Alvin Mielke's collection. I will post more pictures of his collection tonight and in one or two you will see Alvin - some of you that did not know him personally might recognize him anyway - he sure did love the hobby. In the mean time I'm off to help Oslosteve stack about 5 cords in preparation for next year - yep next year!

Thank you Alvin for a collection that will be admired for many years to come. As I understand the collection is intact with no plans to sell. Please everyone - in respect to Alvin - refrain from contacting the family.

I was able to visit with him several times a year. After my first time there, I remember my eyes hurting, LOL It never got old. I'm glad he was my friend & mentor.

Love the A38 my favorite pump. I think that its great that Alvin's family has left the collection intact. I would hope that my family would do the same.

Forgot to add the yuengling neon. this is the old one, this one goes back about 40 or 50 yrs. when they introduced the lager about 20 yrs. ago this was all they had usually in corner bars. the lager took off, there is a red and yellow neon and a bottle outlined buy a neon tube.

This neon sign has all the wire that attaches the tube to the frame, also the "America's oldest brewers" sticker is there on the transformer, hard to find in this condition.

yuengling does market in the southeast, there is a brewery in tampa. they may market into ohio w.v and n.y., and a small portion of n.e.. they are now one of, if not the largest private/family owned brewers in the u.s. but they do not yield enough for the demand
